For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Traktorist beim Pflügen Zentralbild Erfurt 20.3.1956 Wehse Frühjahrsbestellung im Kreis Sömmerde Die Kollegen vom Brigadestützpunkt Vehre der MTS Gangloffrömmern begannen in diesen Tagen mit den ersten Arbeiten zur Frühjahrsbestellung. In den frühesten Morgenstunden fangen die Traktoristen mit dem pflügen an, um die durch Nacht- und Morgenfröste verursachte Festigkeit des Bodens auszunutzen. Die Traktoristen arbeiten nach der Schönebecker Methode: In einigen Tagen wird im Schichtwechsel auch nachts gepflügt. UBz: Traktorist Harry Z w i c k e r mit der Raupe KS 62 und dem Pflug DV 30 beim Umbruch von Kleeland, das dem werktätigen Einzelbauern Hans K n e b e l gehört.
