For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Schutt We-Ho 3.12.1956 Eisenbahnunglück bei Cottbus Am Abend des 27.11.1956 stieß auf dem Straßenübergang zwischen Kolkwitz und Cottbus auf der Fernverkehrsstraße 97 der aus Richtung Vetschau kommende Personenzug P 789 mit einem schweren Lastkraftwagen zusammen. Die Bahnschranken waren nicht geschlossen. Reisende wurden nicht verletzt. UBz: Die Zugmaschine des mit Butter beladenen Lastzuges wurde etwa 75 Meter vor den beiden Lokomotiven hergeschoben. Der Anhänger riss auf halber Strecke ab und blieb zertrümmert, an die Waggons gepresst, liegen.
