Berlin, Institut für Seuchenschutz, Abfüllung Zentralbild Quaschinksky 26.1.1957 Zimontkowski Aus der Arbeit des Institutes für Seuchenschutz In Berlin-Weissensee befindet sich das Institut für Seuchenschutz. Es befasst sich mit der Herstellung von Impfstoffen, Seren und Extrakten für baktereologisch-serologische Diagnostik. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird der Herstellung der sogenannten "Adsorbatimpfstoffe" gewidmet, die zur Schutzimpfung gegen Diphtherie und Tetanus in großem Umfang verwendet werden. Diese Impfstoffe werden vielfach gemischt und als Mehrfachimpfstoffe in den Verkehr gebracht. Durch ihre Anwendung ist man in der Lage, gegen mehrere Krankheiten gleichzeitig zu impfen, was eine beträchtliche Ersparnis an Arbeit und Zeit für Ärzte und medizinisches Hilfspersonal bedeutet. Ausserdem wird durch die Anwendung der Mehrfachimpfstoffe vermieden, dass den Kindern durch allzu häufige Injektionen Schmerzen bereitet werden. UBz: In einem abgeschlossenen sterilen Arbeitsraum wird der Impfstoff in Ampullen abgefüllt.
