For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Schwimmhalle "Neptun" Zentralbild Löwe hen-Hr 13.6.1957 Entwicklun des Ostseebezirks - Neue Sportanlagen in Rostock Unter der Arbeiter- und Bauernmacht hat die Demokratische Sportbewegung im Ostseebezirk eine imposante Aufwärtsentwicklung genommen. 868 Sportanlagen stehen jetzt den Aktiven zur Verfügung. Darunter sind allein im Bezirk mehr öffentliche Anlagen als zur Zeit der Weimarer Republik in ganz Mecklenburg. In den letzten drei Jahren hat die Regierung der DDR unter anderem 26 Millionen DM für den Aufbau sportlicher Einrichtungen für rund 40.000 Sportler aufgewendet. Unter Mithilfe Tausender Sportler im Nationalen Aufbauwerk entstanden u.a. das modernste Hallenschwimmbad sowie das Ostseestadion in Rostock. UBz: Die Schwimmhalle "Neptun" in Rostock, die mit einem Sprungbecken, 10 Meterturm Aufzug, Unterwasserbeleuchtung und -fenster, modernster Duschanlage usw. ausgestattet ist.
