For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
VEG Altenweddingen, Baumschule ZB-Biscan-19.5.1958 80.000 junge Pappeln für den Windschutz. Auf einer 3 Hektar grossen Fläche des VEG Baumschulen in Altenweddingen, Kreis Wanzleben, werden zur Zeit 80.000 einjährige Pappeln aufgeschult. Nach einem Jahr können sie dann ausgepflügt und umgepflanzt werden. Die Pappeln sind hauptsächlich für die Aufforstung und für die Anlage von Windschutzpflanzungen in der Magdeburger Börde bestimmt. UBz: Rutz Langhammer, die hier vor dem Musikstudium ihr praktisches Jahr absolviert, legt die Steckhölzerbereit.
