For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Erfurt, Barfüßerkirche, Ruine Zentralbild Wittig-28.9.59 L- Zum 10. Jahrestag der DDR - Pflege kirchlicher Bauwerke im Bezirk Erfurt mit staatlichen Mitteln. Für die Erhaltung und Erneuerung kirchlicher Bauwerke im Bezirk Erfurt wurden aus staatlichen Mitteln in diesem Jahr rund 178.000 DM zur Verfügung gestellt. UBz: Blick auf die von amerikanischen Bomben stark zerstörte Barfüßerkirche in Erfurt. Für den Wiederaufbau dieser Kirche stellte die Regierung bisher 259.000 DM bereit.
