For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Löwe 18.12.1959 Hochbetrieb beim Weihnachtspaketverkehr nach Westdeutschland Eine dritte Schicht haben die Mitarbeiter des Paketpostamtes Dresden eingelegt, um den vorweihnachtlichen Hochbetrieb im geschenkpaketverkehr nach Westdeutschland bewältigen zu können. Viele tausende Sendungen sich täglich abzufertigen, wobei im Durchschnitt etwa ein Drittel mehr in Richtung West gehen als sie von dort einlaufen. Die Pakete nach der Westzone kommen aus allen Kreisen des Bezirkes in Dresden zusammen und werden von dort aus zentral weitergeleitet.
