For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Schmidt Me-Wa 15.2.1960 Säurefestes Steinzeug für Chemie-Programm Die seit 106 Jahren bestehende, jetzt mit staatlicher Beteiligung arbeitende Steinzeugfabrik Franz Gerhardt in Schönebeck erzeugt säurefeste Rohre, Pumpen, Gefässe und andere Körper, die allen Säuren und Laugen Stand halten. Zur Zeit wird eine Serie Flügelräder gefertigt, die zu Ersatzteillieferungen für chemische Werke der DDR gehören. Diese Flügelräder werden in Exhaustoren eingebaut, die Säuredämpfe absaugen. UBz: Steinzeugformer Klaus Schramm hat ein Flügelrad auf der Drehscheibe. Das Flügelrad muß eine ganz bestimmte Gestalt haben und genau ausgewichtet sein, weil es später mit 1.450 Umdrehungen-Minute laufen wird.
