For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Bauer in einem Maisfeld Zentralbild Gesau 13.9.1960 3335.A.-V. 14.9.1960 Der Musketier und sein Mais. Die Maismusketiere Siegfried Zobelt und Rudi Hartmann von der MTS Waldenburg im Kreis Glauchau haben zum Wettbewerb aufgerufen, den Silomais schnell und sorgfältig einzubringen. Sie selbst haben dabei das Ziel, die Maisernte bereits bis zum 25.9.1960 abzuschliessen, um Zeit für das Bergen der Hackfrüchte zu gewinnen. Auf den von ihnen im Quadrat gedrillten und gehackten Flächen hat der Mais eine Höhe von 2, 5 Metern erreicht und verspricht einen Hektarertrag von 500 bis 550 Dezitonnen Silage. UBz: Maismusketier Zobelt weist stolz auf die Höhe des Maises hin, der sich im Quadrat so prächtig entwickeln konnte und bedeutend besseren Kolbenansatz als die nur in Reihen gesäten Pflanzen aufweist.
