For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Brüggmann Co-Le 9.5.1961 Erdöl fließt von der Wolga bis zur Oder: Erdölverarbeitungswerk Schwedt. In Schwedt an der Oder-Neiße-Friedensgrenze endet der Strang, der das flüssige Gold aus Kuibysche an der Wolga in die DDR leitet. In der UdSSR, in Polen, in der CSSR, in Ungarn und in der DDR nimmit das große Erdölprogramm der befreundeten sozialistischen Länder Gestalt an. Es führt zu einer wesentlichen Erweiterung der chemischen Produktion. In Schwedt entsteht das größte chemische Kombinat des Siebenjahrplanes, das ab 1964 jährlich 2 Millionen Tonnen Erdöl verarbeiten wird. Die Jahreskapazität des Werkes wird nach dem Endausbau jährlich 8 Millionen Tonnen Erdöl betragen. Gegenwärtig entstehen die Tanks für Dieselkraftstoff oder Heizöl mit je 5000 bis 10 000 Kubikmetern Fassungsvermögen.
