For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. This description has been identified as biased or incorrect: Der Text (Beispiel: "Frontstadtpropaganda") entspricht dem Geist und Vokabular des seinerzeitigen DDR-Regimes, ebenso die Verwendung der Bezeichnungen "Westberlin" statt "West-Berlin" und "DDR-Hauptstadt" anstelle von "Ost-Berlin". ADN-ZB-Hesse-13.8.1961-Berlin: Sicherung der Staatsgrenze am 13.8.1961. Zahlreiche Westberliner Bürger ließen sich durch die Frontstadtpropaganda nicht von einem Besuch der DDR-Hauptstadt Berlin abhalten und passierten am 13.8. die für den Übergang eingerichteten Kontrollstellen. Nach der Kontrolle am Brandenburger Tor (unser Foto) kehren die Besucher nach Westberlin zurück. |
