For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Stöhr Sta 26.6.1963 Schwedt-Oder: ca. 1000 Wohnungseinheiten... ...werden noch in diesem Jahr in Schwedt an der Oder, der Stadt des neuen Erdölverarbeitungswerdes, den Mietern übergeben, Schwedt ist nicht mehr nur die Stadt der kleinen Tabakbauer, deren Häuschen sich eng aneinander drücken. schwedt ist auch die neue, sozialistische Stadt, mit den hellen Wohnungen, der modernen Zehnklassenschule, Verkaufshallen und einer allen Ansprüchen genügenden Gaststätte. 17000 einwohner wird Schwedt im Jahre 1965 zählen. UBz.: Blick auf die Schwedter Altstadt, die ihr Gesicht seit 1945 ebenfalls verändert hat. Zu 80 Prozent war sie im Krieg zerstört. |
