For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Kai des Fischkombinats Rostock Zentralbild Karnitzki 2.11.1964 Auf die erste 50-tägige Fangreise in tropische Gewässer vor der nordwest-afrikanischen Küste wird gegenwärtig die Besatzung des Fang- und Verarbeitungsschiffes "Walter Dehmel" vorbereitet. Auf der Reise, die in wenigen Tagen beginnen soll, wird der erste großtechnische Versuch der DDR zur Tropenfischerei unternommen. Zur Zeit wird das Schiff am neuen Kai des Fischkombiantes Rostock ausgerüstet (unser Bild) und erhält neue Maschinen für die erste Fahrt in tropische Gewässer.
