For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Lastkähne Zentralbild Häßler 3.8.1970 Dresden: Binnenschiffahrt wegen Niedrigwasser nur zur Hälfte ausgelastet- Nur zu 50 Prozent können gegenwärtig die Motorschiffe, Schleppkähne und Schubbrame des VEB Deutsche Binnenreederei mit Transportgütern wegen Niedrigwasser auf den Flüssen beladen werden. Allein im VEB Binnenhafen Oberelbe Dresden werden täglich sechs Schiffe, die bei voller Auslastung 800 Tonnen transportieren, be- und entladen.
