Am 24.3.1950 fand in Berlin die Eröffnungssitzung des Obersten Gerichtshofes der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik statt. Das Oberste Gericht hat die Aufgabe,die Einheit unserer Rechtsprechung zu sichern und fortzuentwickeln. Zugleich wird das Oberste Gericht unsere antifaschistische demokratische Ordnung sichern.
