For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Jugendweihe, Teilnehmer ADN-ZB Zimmermann 29.3.81 Berlin: Jugend: Ihren großen Tag hatten am Wochenende diese Mädchen der 2. Oberschule Deutsch-Sowjetische Freundschaft Berlin-Köpenick. Sie gehörten zu den ersten von insgesamt rund 249.000 Mädchen und Jungen, die bis Ende Mai die Jugendweihe erhalten. Allein in Berlin werden in diesem Zeitraum 17 700 Jugendliche in den Kreis der Erwachsenen aufgenommen.
