Description
Español: Busto de un joven hispanorromano, siglo II d. C., mármol, 70 x 42 x 28 cm, Valladolid, Museo de Valladolid (Inv. 275). El busto fue encontrado en las inmediaciones de Medina de Rioseco en 1868, al construir la carretera de esta localidad a Villalba de los Alcores. Se trata de una escultura de alta calidad, que ha sido puesta en relación con otros bustos de similar cronología y nivel artístico procedentes de puntos geográficos cercanos, como los de un hombre y una mujer encontrados en Becerril de Campos (actualmente en el Museo de Zamora). La existencia de estas obras parece apuntar a la presencia en Hispania de escultores griegos de Asia Menor, que desarrollarían su labor de modo itinerante.
