Summary[edit]

Description

During the 1990's refurbishment the trailing ends of the trailer cars were fitted with basic driving controls inside a locked cabinet - these were for use when shunting individual two-car units in depots - instead of a driver in the driver's cab driving backwards being aided by a person at the other end of the train shouting instructions.

This photograph was taken when a C stock train showing proposed changes was on public display at Hammersmith (Met) station.
