Das Foto zeigt einen Blick über die Ufer der Unstrut, die im Hintergrund links durch eine Straßenbrücke verbunden sind. Rechts der Bildmitte das Örtchen Merxleben mit seinen Fachwerkhäusern. Am rechten Bildrand ist durch die unbelaubten Bäume der Steinbruch gut zu erkennen. Am rechten Bildrand unten findet sich unter dem Blindstempel "C. Bregazzi, Langensalza die wohl schon auf der Glasplatte per Handschrift vorgefertigte Jahreszahl 1891 ...
