In the vacuoles, "Malic acid" is accumulated and not "Maleic acid" which is the dehydrated form of "Malic acid". "Maleic acid" can be converted into "Malic acid" by hydration, but the main product is "Malic acid" here, so using the term "Maleic acid" is quite misleading. So it should write "Malic acid".
