| Description | CODA’s first car is an all-electric four-door, five passenger battery electric vehicle (BEV), the CODA Sedan. The car is powered by a 33.8 kWh lithium ion iron phosphate (LiFePO4)-battery system produced by Lio Energy Systems, a joint venture between CODA and Lishen Power Battery. CODA states the vehicles' range to be 90 to 120 miles (140 to 190 km) based on US 06 and UDDS test cycles.[2] The battery system features an active thermal management system, which CODA states will give the vehicle a more dependable range than other BEVs and improved battery system durability.[5] The vehicle features a 6.6 kW on board charger. In addition, the vehicle can be charged from depletion in under six hours when plugged into a level-two (220V) charge station, roughly half the time of the Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt. The company estimates that it will cost less than US$3, on average, to drive 100 miles (160 km). The car is backed by a 3-year, 36,000 mile limited warranty and the battery system is backed by an 8-year, 100,000 mile limited warranty. |
