Cuacos de Yuste (Cáceres, Extremadura) En 1959 se declara a la villa de Cuacos de Yuste, perteneciente a la Comarca de La Vera, “Paraje Pintoresco”. Se trata de una calificación equivalente en la actualidad a la declaración de Bien de Interés Cultural, con categoría de Conjunto Histórico. Su conjunto histórico-artístico es amplio y se centra en gran medida en la figura del emperador Carlos I de España y V del Sacro Imperio, que eligió esta localidad para retirarse tras abdicar de sus títulos en sus hijos. El principal monumento del municipio es el Monasterio de Yuste (donde el emperador Carlos I de España vivió poco más de un año antes de fallecer) y que actualmente forma parte del Patrimonio Nacional. En su tiempo fue uno de los principales enclaves de la Orden de San Jerónimo; desde 2013 residen en él monjes Paulinos.
