Summary
[edit]DescriptionCalifornia Quail (6325299310).jpg |
California Quails are a fairly common sight in the Marlborough Sounds. This male, and its much shyer mate, paid our garden a visit this afternoon. They were originally imported as a game bird into the Nelson district in 1865. Over the next ten years they were introduced to other districts of New Zealand and are now quite frequently seen throughout most of the country. |
