Description As often happens, Pandy agreed to take his turn at guard duty, this time keeping a careful watch over downtown Lisbon and the River Tagus with the graceful "Golden Gate of the Tagus" bridge from this perch on Castelo Sao Jorge. That "Golden Gate" name is a bit of a misnomer since the bridge, which is officially known as the April 25 Bridge to commemorate the "Carnation Revolution" that brought democracy to Portugal in 1974, was designed and built by the same company that built the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge, the American Bridge Company.
