Description Capt. William Owen Baldwin, Jr. (1845-1864), Company B, 22nd Alabama Infantry, the son of William Owen Baldwin, M. D. Note: Left the state university at Tuscaloosa to enlist as a private in the Twenty-second Alabama Regiment, was appointed sergeant major, lieutenant, then captain, before he was eighteen years old, was known as the “boy captain” of Deas’ brigade, killed in the battle of Franklin, November 30, 1864
