English: Captain Dixie Kiefer, USN, at right, Commanding Officer of the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga (CV-14), on the bridge of his ship during an attack by Japanese planes off Manila, Philippine Islands, on 5 November 1944. The (unidentified) officer at left is taking bearings on the approaching planes. Note the aircraft availability "scoreboard" on the windscreen; also note the "gun off" on Kiefer's helmet.
