English: Captain Ellison's action off Guernsey with an enemy's squadron Hand written note 8th June 1794 Describes an action occurring on on 8 June 1794, when Captain Joseph Ellison's ship, HMS Druid (36 guns), with HMS Crescent (36 guns), and HMS Eurydice (20 guns), were attacked by a French squadron of two 54 gun ships, two 36 gun frigates, a corvette, and a brig. The British flotilla were able to escape with minor damage. The French French Scévola and Brutus. Published 31 March, 1808 by Joyce Gold, 203 Shoe Lane, Fleet Street
