Mexican Carnival Festival with Dancing Sayacas

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Sayacas are part of the Carnival/Mardi Gras tradition in Ajijic, Mexico, where young males cross-dress into various characters. They wear masks and women's clothing stuffed with balloons (to mask their identity) and carry white flour in a bag or purse to throw on the children (and adults) during the parades to award purification and good luck.
