Description

Se hoje um milhão de brasilienses e turistas invadem as ruas de Brasília para brincar o Carnaval, é porque um grupo de pioneiros deu o pontapé para iniciar a festa do Momo, quando a cidade mal tinha comemorado seu primeiro ano de vida.

Os primeiros moradores da capital contam que a folia existia desde antes da inauguração, em 21 de abril de 1960. Era um desejo de Israel Pinheiro, administrador da capital federal, fazer, no meio do Cerrado, o primeiro Carnaval da nova cidade.Na foto Desfile de Carnaval nos anos 80, Foto: Arquivo Público
