The text on display is in Latin, and it comes from the Gospel acording to Luke (Lc 1:5-9) in the Vulgate Bible. The text is:

FUIT IN DIEBUS HERODIS REGIS JUDAEAE: SACERDOS
quidam nomine Zacharias de vice Abia, et uxor illius
de filiabus Aaron, et nomen ejus Elisabeth. Erant autem
justi ambo ante Deum, incedentes in omnibus manda
tis et justificationibus Domini sine querela. Et non erat
illis filius, eo quod esset Elisabeth sterilis, et ambo pro
