The brig Cimbria of Randers, built in 1838. The uploader read the date on the painting as 1842. Hard to find any online material about this vessel. Lloyd's Register Foundation has a scanned survey report from November 1838 (https://hec.lrfoundation.org.uk/archive-library/ships/cimbria-1838), and the Danish Maritime Museum owns another portrait of the vessel, dated 1844, but apart from the name of the master at the time (Mr. Grønsund), no further information is given. Notes The experts at Bruun Rasmussen saw this as a work by Carolus Weyts, but it shares many similarities with the works of Petrus Weyts, so the uploader is not quite convinced.
