Description
English: Grand gala berline with eight windows. Built in Paris between 1816 and 1825 by Percier and Hittorff, architects; Duchesne, drawer-carriage manufacturer; Roguier, sculpto; Denière and Matelin, bronze artist-engraver; Gauthier, gilder; Delorme, painter; Vauchelet; painter; Delalanden, embroiderer.

Height: 4.48 m Length: 6.70 m Width: 2.60 m Weight: around 4 tons

Begun in 1816 for the projected coronation of Louis XVIII. Finished in 1865 for the coronation of Charles X. Modified by Joachim Ehrler in 1853 for the projected consecration of Napoleon III in Rome. Restored in 1856 by Erhler & Sons for the baptism of the Imperial Prince, son of Napoleon III (to transport the Imperial Couple).

Commencée en 1816 pour le sacre projeté de Louis XVIII. Achevée en 1825 pour le sacre de Charles X. Modifié en 1853 par Joachim Ehrler pour le sacre projeté de Napoléon III à Rome. Restauré en 1856 par Erhler & Fils pour le baptême du Prince impérial, fils de Napoléon III (pour transporter le Couple impérial).
