Built in Paris between 1816 and 1825 by Percier and Hittorff, architects; Duchesne, drawer-carriage manufacturer; Roguier, sculpto; Denière and Matelin, bronze artist-engraver; Gauthier, gilder; Delorme, painter; Vauchelet; painter; Delalanden, embroiderer.
Height: 4.48 m Length: 6.70 m Width: 2.60 m Weight: around 4 tons Begun in 1816 for the projected coronation of Louis XVIII. Finished in 1865 for the coronation of Charles X. Modified by Joachim Ehrler in 1853 for the projected consecration of Napoleon III in Rome. Restored in 1856 by Erhler & Sons for the baptism of the Imperial Prince, son of Napoleon III (to transport the Imperial Couple). Exhibition at the Grande Écurie, Versailles (August 2015)Français : Berline de grand gala à huit glaces.
