| Description |
English: A Surrey County Council bus stop in Chaldon Road, Caterham-on-the-Hill, Surrey. As is usually the case when Transport for London services extend out of the Greater London boundary, TfL take over the bus stops and provide them themselves. This case is unusual however, because the TfL bus services that serve here use a terminal loop of three roads in a triangle, and as such, only serve the other side of this road. Therefore, this bus stop is a Surrey County Council bus stop, whereas on the other side of the road, the bus stop is a TfL one. Even more bizarrely, the two bus stops are named differently. This one is named Douglas Brunton Daycare Centre, and is served only by Surrey County Council routes 409, 411, 540 and 541 and school bus route 657 (though Surrey CC stops do not show school routes on them). The Transport for London stop on the other side of the road is named Westway Common, and is served by all of the Surrey CC services this side is used by, as well as TfL routes 404 and 466. Confusingly, TfL stops do show school routes, so the Surrey CC school route 657 appears on the TfL bus stop the other side, but not this Surrey CC one! |
