Summary[edit]

Description

A giant Ceanothus cuneatus in full bloom at Ulistac Natural Area. Today this Ceanothus is teaming with bumble bees and honey bees. I found both Bombus vosnesenskii and B. melanopygus feeding on this outstanding tree-sized shrub. The smaller tree to the left is a Western Redbud (Cercis occidentalis) that is just blossoming.
