日本語: 終戦記念日の朝、近所にある戦没者慰霊碑の「月寒忠霊塔」に行く。老朽化が激しく、来年2020年度に国が調査を行い、修繕するのか、忠霊塔を撤去して新たな慰霊碑を建てるのか検討するそうです。遺骨や遺品・約4千柱が眠る忠霊塔を「撤去」なんて事をして良いのか大いに疑問ですが、うまく修繕で済んで、この佇まいを残して欲しいものです。
そもそも、ここまで老朽化したのは、一体この忠霊塔は誰の責任で管理すべきものなのか、が曖昧にしてきた為と言われています。国も北海道も札幌市も互いに押し付けあってきたから（北海道新聞の記事によると、財務省は「国有財産の台帳に月寒忠霊塔は記載されていない」とし、札幌市は「忠霊塔は奉賛会の所有物」との見解のようです・・・）に他ならないのですがね。 忠霊塔奉賛会の働きかけもあり、国の管理責任が明確化されたようで、まずは一安心なのでしょうが、戦争終わってから何年経ってるんだよ、とホント思ってしまいます。English: Cenotaph at Tsukisamu shrine, August 2019. |
