Description
Italiano: Santa Croce fra il 1845 e il 1855. Il campanile, architettato da Gaetano Baccani e compiuto nel 1845, fa fede che questa litografia non può esser anteriore a quell’anno. D’altra parte, la presenza della base su cui doveva elevarsi l’antico campanile (a sinistra della chiesa) — detta il masso di Santa Croce, e demolita nel 1855 — prova che fu eseguita prima del 1855. Mancano perciò la nuova facciata di Niccolò Matas, compiuta fra il 1857 e il 1863; il monumento a Dante, inaugurato nel 1865; l’ingresso al chiostro, sostituito nel 1870 a un edificio moderno demolito nel 1869, e il portico che fiancheggia la chiesa lungo via dei Malcontenti, finito nel 1890.
