Summary[edit]

Description
English: George Washington Park, Centralia, Washington, USA. The memorial in the foreground is inscribed with the names of Centralia residents killed in World War I and subsequent wars.

In middle ground, "The Sentinel", a bronze statue of a doughboy from World War I.
Sculptor — Alonzo Victor Lewis. Besides serving as a World War I memorial, the statue is also more specifically a monument to the four members of the American Legion killed during the events of the Centralia Massacre.
