Description
English: Cermeniza district in Dioclia ( XI c. AD).
Српски / srpski: Cermeniza (Crmnica) je ranofeudalna župa pored Dioklitinskog (Skadarskog) jezera. Ovaj brdovit i šumovit predio, u neposrednoj blizini planina, predstavljao je strateški bezbjedno mjesto. U XI vijeku je zahvatala oblast – nešto manju od kasnije Crmničke nahije ( u zaleđu Virpazara). Kao i ostale tadašnje jezerske župe, gravitirala je prema Dioklitinskom jezeru (današnjem Skadarskom jezeru) koje je u ranom srednjem vijeku imalo manju površinu i drugačiji oblik od današnjeg (prikazano na mapi, u kojoj su nazivi iz dukljanskog perioda dati izvorno).
