English: This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 2 July 2023, highlights Cestas Solar Park in Southwestern France. At its opening on December 1, 2015, it was Europe’s largest solar power station. With a 300-megawatt capacity, the station generates power for more than 240,000 residents of France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Copernicus services provide quality-assured data tailored to the energy sector’s needs. For example, the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service provides data on solar radiation that support the planning of installations, from solar farms to rooftop solar panels.
