| Description |
Français : Ce château d'eau de 40m² d'un style tout à fait particulier est intimement lié à la gare voisine. D'une contenance de 300 m³, ce dernier servait à alimenter les locomotives à vapeur ainsi que, comme à Strasbourg, de bains-douches pour les cheminots au début du siècle dernier. Il fut construit en même temps que la gare sur toute une série de pieux (parmi les 3 034 pilotis de l'ensemble) dans le sol pour rendre possible le système Hennebique de béton armé du Français éponyme. Du fait de l'abandon de la vapeur dans les trains, le lieu est totalement à l'abandon et serait même dangereux. Plusieurs projets n'ont pas abouti autour de cette grande tour. Affaire à suivre donc, tout comme cette belle ville de Metz.
