Français : le château neuf et le château vieux, faussement appelé donjon, puisqu'il s'agit de la grosse tour d'une forteresse résidentielle achevée en 1508, ont été désolidarisés par Mme Morillon de 1880 à 1904. Le corridor de liaison établit par l'architecte Jean Baptiste Mansart de Jouy a été détruit en 1822, pour une raison inconnue. Dès l'acquisition du château, la nouvelle proriétaire fait restaurer le château vieux dans le "style gothique" remis au goût du jour par les restaurations de Viollet le Duc, par l'architecte Ferdinand Collet. L'église, autrefois castrale, est l'élément architectural le plus ancien de ce très bel ensemble ; construite par Sulpice de Buzançais au XIIème siècle, seigneur de Verneuil et trésorier de l'abbaye saint Martin de Tours. |
