Description

Châtillon-sur-Indre (Indre).

Eglise Notre-Dame, façade sud.

Sur la partie supérieure du transept sud, sculpture romane du pignon représentant un Christ bénissant entre deux anges.

Le bandeau inférieur représente : à gauche un épisode de la vie de saint Outrille - un pilleur d'église puni par saint Outrille - à droite les méchants sont précipités par des diables dans la gueule d'un léviathan figurant l'Enfer.

Cette sculpture provient vraissemblablement d'un édifice antérieur.
