| Description |
English: Built in the 1890s, this Classical Revival-style townhouse was built for Charles Miller Morse. The house features a buff roman brick exterior, low-slope roof, bracketed cornice with dentils, attic windows with decorative metal grilles, two fluted pilasters framing the facade on the second and third floors, three-over-one and eight-over-one windows, a second-story iron balcony with a decorative railing and brackets, decorative window trim, a front door with a decorative trim surround and a stoop, and a parapet at the top of the front facade with a faux balustrade. The house is one of several late 19th Century townhouses in the Midway Row Houses on Delaware Avenue, which sit about midway between Erie Square in Downtown Buffalo and Gates Circle. The Midway Row Houses are contributing structures in the Allentown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. |
