Notes This is believed to have been painted at Falmouth, and was used as a study for a larger painting. Hemy has painted the figures in a very loose way, but he has paid close attention to the details of the lobster pot and the waves around the boat. He has also looked closely at the way the figures are moving, whether straining against the oars or stretching to pull the pot aboard the boat[1]
