Description
English: The picture of 1904 shows girls with their teacher of Waldschule für kränkliche Kinder (translated: Forest school for sickly children). The very first open-air school worldwide was meant to prevent children from tuberculosis. It was located in the borrough of Westend, in the city of Charlottenburg, near Berlin, Germany, in the outskirts of Grunewald forest, since 1920 part of Germany's capital.
Deutsch: Das Foto aus dem Jahr 1904 zeigt Schülerinnen mit ihrer Lehrerin im Außengelände der Waldschule für kränkliche Kinder. Die weltweit erste Freiluftschule war zur Vorbeugung gegen Tuberkulose und andere auf Immunschwäche zurückzuführende Krankheiten bei Kindern gedacht. Sie war im Westend der Stadt Charlottenburg am Rande des Grunewalds angesiedelt, seit 1920 Teil Berlins.
