Italiano: Antichissima è la chiesa di S.Angelo in Asprano, sorta originariamente in periodo anteriore l’anno 1000, come è documentato nel”CHRONICON CASINESE” di Leone Ostiense, in cui si legge, della donazione fatta da Grimoaldo, giudice di Aquino, della chiesetta di S.Angelo all’abbazia di Montecassino il 14 giugno 991. L’Arcangelo Gabriele era venerato nella chiesetta già dai longobardi prima che sorgesse la rocca di Mansone. Si sa che essi gli dedicarono suggestivi santuari sparsi in tutta Italia,tra cui quello famoso del Gargano. |
