Smiling child working in Daemado Village, Jodo-myeon, Jindo-gun, South Jeolla Province

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: It happened when I went to Daemado Village, Jodo-myeon, Jindo-gun, South Jeolla Province, for an event to treat and comfort children from remote islands aboard a navy ship. In the evening, on the forest road going up to the village, I found a child walking with an old sack that was more than half his body on his back, and the moment I pressed the shutter, the island child found a camera and laughed at what was good. The innocent and brightly smiling child was so pretty that he stroked her hair. The island child looked at the camera and asked, “Are you filming a movie, Mister?” Even though the sack on their back was worn and the clothes they were wearing were too tattered, the island child's giggling laugh was a jewel-like laugh that instantly shattered all prejudice and old things that could not be found in city children. The smiling face of the child was the most impressive one among the many pictures taken while touring the remote islands for 20 days and 19 nights. At that time, the bright smile of the unspoiled island child remained strong, and I even got into the habit of always taking out pictures when my life was difficult. Then, the smiling child's smile taught her to live a short life with a smile, and it became a picture that always shakes her heart.
