Description
English: Christ Church, known as Old Swedes, parts built in 1760, founded earlier by Swedish community as a Lutheran church, but Episcopalian since about 1790. Haven't confirmed, but George Washington and his army stopped here overnight on their way to Valley Forge (about 5 miles away). In Bridgeport, PA, but sign nearby says that it's on the border of the Village of Swedesburg, Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-276, is about 20 years south of the church
