The Eucharistic Congress of 1913 was a major international religious event held in Malta. The congress was a celebration of the Eucharist, the central sacrament of the Catholic Church. It was also an opportunity for Catholics from all over the world to come together and pray for peace and unity.

To commemorate the congress, the Maltese government commissioned sculptor Antonio Sciortino to create a monument. Sciortino created a bronze statue of Christ the King, with a kneeling female figure representing Malta at his feet. The statue is located in Floriana, Malta, and is one of the most iconic landmarks in the country.

The monument is a powerful symbol of Malta's Catholic faith and its commitment to the Eucharist. It is also a reminder of the important role that Malta played in the international Catholic community in the early 20th century.
