| Description |
The Christmas Valley Sand Dunes near Lakeview in south-central Oregon are the largest inland shifting sand dune system in the Pacific Northwest – not to mention a popular destination for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. Composed largely of ash and pumice that blew into the area 7,000 years ago when Mt. Mazama erupted to form Crater Lake, nearly 8,900 acres of the Sand Dunes are open to vehicle use.
